Annual OTAA Convention July 21

The CAA’s annual Ohio Turnpike Astronomical Association Convention will be held at Letha House Park near Spencer, Ohio, on Saturday, July 21, 2012. Click here for location information!

We don’t have a rigid schedule but here is a rough agenda for the day.  Things are a bit loose to allow plenty of time for socializing:

  1. Sign in, bring potluck dishes, and purchase raffle tickets 3-5 PM
  2. Potluck supper and door-prize raffle 5-7 PM
  3. Slide presentation for those who would like to attend 7-8 PM
  4. Set up scopes and star party from 8 PM on, into the night!

There will be a refrigerator available for dishes that need to be kept cold.  We will start the charcoal for the grill around 4:15 or so. We will have the same type of brats, hot dogs, etc. as last year — most of it will be precooked and just require a bit of grilling. We’ll have some lemonade available but suggest bringing your own soft drinks if you wish.

We have some nice door prizes including a telescope, and an electronic eyepiece that can be hooked to a laptop.
