by William Murmann, CAA President
Every two years our club elects a new slate of executive officers and at-large board members, who serve for a two-year term. This is an election year for the upcoming 2013-2014 term of office.
Our Bylaws specify that nominations can start at our October meeting and that final nominations be made and the election held at our November meeting.
Here are the election and voting rules according to our Bylaws:
- To have voting privileges, you must be a paid-up member at least 18 years of age, or be an Honorary Life Member or a Patron Member.
- Persons under the age of 18 cannot be elected to office or be named to chair committees.
- For new members, voting privileges start after six (6) months of membership.
Candidates for executive office — the president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer — must have been CAA members for at least two (2) years, and have attended at least half of the membership meetings during the preceding two years, or be recommended by the Board.
